Aged care in the comfort of your own home
Aged care that supports older Australians to live safely, comfortably and with dignity at home. Trusted and reliable care at home across the Central West and Western NSW.

“Home is where the heart is” - aged care that promotes independence and helps you stay at home
At DANS, aged care is about helping you stay in the place you know and love. We take the time to understand your needs, build a personalised care plan, and support your independence, so you can continue living comfortably at home, in your local community.
Health care that supports independence
Your care plan is built around your routines, not a fixed template.
Our registered nurses and care team work together to support your health while helping you stay independent at home, for as long as possible.

Stay in the home and community you know and love
We focus on keeping you connected to your home, your routines, and your local area - avoiding the need to move into residential care wherever possible.

Consistent aged care built around you
You'll have the same small team at each visit. They learn your routines and adjust your support as your needs change.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Questions about in-home care, funding, and getting started? We've answered the ones we hear most.
What aged care services does DANS provide?
DANS provides in-home aged care across Central West and Western NSW, including personal care and showering, nursing and clinical care, medication support, domestic assistance, transport to appointments, in-home respite and 24-hour support. See the full list of services.
Can aged care help me stay in my own home?
Yes, that is its purpose. In-home aged care brings support to you - it is not residential or nursing home care. With the right services in place, most older people can stay in their own home, keep their routines and remain part of their local community.
Can DANS help me understand aged care funding?
Yes. The main pathways are Support at Home (the government program that replaced Home Care Packages in November 2025), DVA aged care for veterans, and private care. Government funding starts with a My Aged Care assessment - call 1800 200 422, or ask DANS to walk you through it.
What is the difference between home care and a nursing home?
Home care brings support to you: care workers and nurses visit your own home for the hours you need, and you keep your routines, pets and community. A nursing home is residential aged care - you move into a facility with 24-hour staffing. Home care suits people who can live safely at home with the right support. DANS provides home care only, including 24-hour and palliative care at home.
How do I get assessed for aged care?
Register with My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 or at myagedcare.gov.au, then an assessor visits you at home to work out the support you need. The assessment is free. Once you are assigned a Support at Home classification, you choose a provider. DANS can help you prepare for the assessment or start services once it is done.
