Wound care that supports healing at home
Feel safer and more confident with nurse-led care in familiar surroundings.
We provide in-home wound care delivered by registered nurses for older people, people with disability, and anyone needing clinical support - from dressing changes and monitoring to post-surgical care and chronic wound management.

What is wound care and how does DANS do it differently?
Wound care involves clinical support from our registered nurses to assess, treat and manage wounds. Often it follows a hospital procedure, with care given at home to support healing and reduce the risk of infection.
While some wounds may only require short-term treatment, others require more regular monitoring and ongoing check-ins by experienced registered nurses. So whether you're recovering from surgery, living with diabetes, or managing a skin tear or chronic wound, our team can help.
At DANS, Our nurses assess how best to care for your wound and build an individual treatment and recovery plan. Working closely with you, or your family, we can safely help you recover at home.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Questions about in home care, funding, and getting started? We've answered the ones we hear most.
Can DANS provide wound care at home?
Yes. DANS Registered Nurses provide wound care at home, including dressing changes, wound monitoring and care planning to support healing - following your GP's or specialist's clinical instructions.
Why is proper wound care important?
Because poorly managed wounds get worse quietly. Correct technique, the right dressings and regular monitoring reduce the risk of infection, delayed healing and hospital readmission - particularly for older people and anyone with diabetes or fragile skin.
Can wound care be arranged after surgery or hospital discharge?
Yes. Surgical wounds often need dressing changes for weeks after discharge, and travelling to a clinic for each one is hard from a Central West and Western NSW town. DANS brings that care to you - contact us before discharge if you can, so care starts from day one home.
