How much does the NDIS cost?

- Supports in your approved plan are funded by the NDIS, with no participant contribution.
- If you are NDIA or plan managed, providers must charge at or below the NDIS price limits.
- Supports that are outside your plan can be arranged privately.

You need support now, or early intervention support, to build your independence and reduce your future support needs.
How to get started with the NDIS
Call us before you apply for NDIS funding. We can help you understand what’s required, work out what evidence you’ll need and guide you through the process. If you already have an NDIS plan, we can walk through it with you and explain how it can be used for care at home.

Step 1: Check your eligibility
Visit the NDIS website and use the eligibility checklist. You can confirm eligibility based on age, residency and how your disability affects daily life.
Step 2: Submit your access request
Apply to the NDIA by phone, through your local area coordinator or with an access request form, together with evidence from your GP, specialist or allied health professionals.
Step 3: Receive your NDIS plan
If you’re eligible, the NDIA works with you to build a plan. You’ll find out your funded supports, your budget and how your plan will be managed.
Step 4: DANS as your provider
Once your plan is approved, you can choose DANS to deliver your supports. We put a service agreement in place and handle the setup for you.

What if I am confused by NDIS budgets and categories?
That is common - you are not alone. The NDIS will not fund everyday living costs such as rent, groceries or household bills, but it can fund support to live independently. DANS can explain which of your budget categories apply to in-home care and what questions to ask your planner.
Can DANS work with my support coordinator?
Yes. DANS works with support coordinators, plan managers, allied health professionals and family members routinely. With your consent, we share scheduling and progress information so your supports stay organised around the one plan.
